Lockhard's Ohio Buckeye is for sale as a Started Dog. This handsome GSP is eager and fast in the field and an affectionate loverboy in the house. Very smart and sensitive, he is a quick learner both on and off the field. He will be happiest in a family where he is given love and attention, not with a pack of hunting dogs in kennels.

Buck was born in California, the last pup of the last litter of Lockhard's Miss Millie. Millie has had 4 proven litters, and Buckeye is a good example of the quality pups she's had. The majority of Miss Millie's pups went to hunting families, and many have given their testimonials regarding their fine hunting abilities and even temperaments in the home.

More about Buck!

Buck is a very high energy, friendly, handsome, stylish, hard working dog. He is best suited with a family as a single dog as he likes the attention. Buck is very obedient but must be controlled in the house as he is very busy. In our training sessions, Buck has been used as an example for our customers of what to expect as a finished product in exercises so they know what to look for before moving on to the next exercise. Buck has also been used in demonstrations for some advanced exercises, however, has not completed the program. We are presently working with Buck to polish his field work.

More about Buck. He is very fast, loves to run/work in the fields, loves birds, retrieves to hand, loves to retrieve from water, has a soft mouth, is not bothered by the gun, spends a lot of time in the pond swimming in the summertime, and would make a world class dock dog with a little work. He flies full speed ahead and launches well into the pond. We have just a couple more weeks of work to completion of the Started Dog program before he'll be ready to be your great hunting companion and family dog. He is 2 years old.
