Miss Maude's 2011 Litter
Bred to hunt, bred to please
The five remaining pups from Miss Maude's litter have started their training as Started Dogs. They remain at Lockhard until our Started Dog standard tasks are completed. Seven pups were born 8/21/11 to Miss Maude and Kane of HI-N-Kennels. Both Maude and Kane have tested Good on hips. Take a look at Kane's pedigree and OFA and Maude's pedigree and OFA. These quality hunting dogs are perfect for hunting, hunt test, and field trial families.

Basic Foundation & Started Dog
7 weeks old. Click for big and more (6 photos).
Puppies are 7 weeks old! They moved to their outdoor kennel at 4 weeks. At 6 weeks, they had their 1st shot. We love watching them play!
Three males are left to choose from. Deadline to get the puppy price of $600 is October 23rd. After that date, unsold pups begin foundation training that includes:
Leash work
Boundary work
Proper indoor manners
Bird introduction
This program will be complete at 16 weeks and includes puppy shots. Price is $1250 with 1/2 price deposit.
After 16 weeks, formal training begins as a started dog for upland birds. Included are exercises in working the field, learning to hold point through the flush and shot if new owner desires (future trial dog). Otherwise, the pup will be released with the shot to make the retrieve (Hunting dog) The pups go to their new homes after completing the above training. Release times may vary depending on the pup. Price is $3250 with a 1/2 price deposit.
This started dog that goes through basic training will not be forced to fetch in this time period.
Shipping a pup
If you live far away and don’t know how shipping of a pup would work, we can help you. Some airlines will ship animals, but with many restrictions, We prefer to ship pups after 10 weeks. Upon full payment of the pup, make arrangements to have the pup shipped from Cleveland Hopkins Airport to your nearest airport.
Lockhard will supply an airline approved shipping crate for a small fee. Price includes a slip lead attached to the outside of the crate and proper bedding inside to ensure the best experience possible for the pup. Lockhard will also deliver the pup to Cleveland Hopkins Airport. Please contact us for price.

Day 1: Not only does puppy #1 have beautiful markings, he is the largest and most active and vocal. Nothing gets in his way!
