Lockhard's Porter
Started Dog (Miss Millie's 2007 litter)

Lockhard's Porter is doing great in the field. click for big and more (7 photos)
Porter is a fabulous hunting dog as you can see by the pictures we sent. He is just over a year old and has hunted 60+ birds. We found Gary Stampfli, owner of Lockhard Bird Dog Training, on the website and purchased one of the pups from Millie's 3rd litter. We named him Porter and Gary started his training, i.e., manners, obedience, commands, birds and the
e-collar.
We found Gary to be an excellent trainer in all of the above, and Gary and
Carol have become very good friends of ours. The people I hunt with have
commented on how well Porter has matured. He has pointed and retrieved at a
high level for his first year hunting. We are so pleased with all the
training Gary has provided and his integrity. We would recommend him to
everyone. Porter is not only a great hunting dog but a part of our family.

Daisy

Daisy in the field. Click for big and more (6 photos).
I was just writing to let you know how Daisy did in our puppy
hunt competion this last weekend. She did awesome — help points on all three
birds like a pro and the only snag we hit was with the first bird. I flushed,
I shot it, but she saw it and ran to it and smelt it and picked it up but
ended up just leaving it 15 yards away, so i ended up having to make the
retrieve myself. The other two birds we found, she retrieved them like a
pro with no problems and on the 2nd bird I also ended up double shooting at
the bird which cost us some points also. So the only two negatives was the
first retrieve and me double shooting a bird but other then that we would
have placed top 5 but with the deduction we ended placing top 10 out of 20
dogs. So all in all i am very impressed with her in the field and she
handled like a dream. As always, she minds in the field and on the leash. We
will be attending another competion in March, but will be in the main hunt,
not the puppy hunt, and i am going in with the utmost confidence in Daisy.

Coach & Dusty
Started Dogs (Miss Millie's 2005 & 2007 litters, respectively)

Lockhard's Dusty and Lockhard's Coach had a good 2009 hunting season. click for big and more (10 photos).
It's been one of those years! Coach and Dusty have at least 100 birds this season. Just yesterday at Hastings, we started the Hunt at 7:30 off by 10:00 12 birds. The last Photo is the GPS.
Coach - Red 9.9 miles
Dusty - Green 9.1 miles
Hunters - Aqua blue 2.2 miles

The dogs have very distinct personalities, but get along amazingly well. Coach adores Dusty most of the time, tolerates him at other times. Both dogs are well behaved, and on the whole, well mannered. Dusty still has some slip ups, as he is easy to excite. He goes crazy if a woman with a high voice gives him attention. It's not his fault, he just loves attention. Coach is the same as she has always been — aloof and majestic. She lets you know what she wants, which isn't much, and then wants to be left alone. She has a driven personality, all or none. She understands both of us very well and adapts. Dusty is better liked because most people don't understand Coach. She's special — always has been! They are great dogs. Glad to hear Millie is having another litter. Same father? It's good mix.
